Helligon downhill biking

Helligon: downhill biking

...if you love adrenaline

Do you love adrenaline? Try Helligon! It is the first downhill track in Slovakia built to a Flow Country Trail standard. Helligon makes perfect use of all that the countryside has to offer. The shape, the features, the surface - the entire landscape topography is matched with a flowing track that promises fun and a shot of adrenaline. Helligon is designed to counteract the forces that push the biker off the track, resulting in a smooth ride that is effectively complemented by the undulations or berms of the terrain.

The track isn't dull; it's dynamic and varied. All the elements the rider has to ride over are safe, passable, predictable and stable. Nevertheless, the track is designed for more experienced riders who are not afraid of going fast and already have good off-road handling skills. (Less experienced riders are recommended to first use our asphalt pump track and skill park, where they can practice their technique and get acquainted with the essential elements of off-road biking).

Helligon brings not only a great riding experience but also the pleasant forest that surrounds it. Finally, judge for yourself:

Why Helligon?

Although you'd be hard-pressed to find a similarity between a musical instrument and a bike track, it's possible to find one nonetheless. The track's name is derived from the heligon wind instrument, the voiced part of which is distinctly curved, making it strikingly reminiscent of the terrain's curves. At the same time, the name also contains the surname of the mining master Matej Kornel Hell, who, at the beginning of the 18th century, made a significant contribution to rescue the flooded mines by building a pumping machine.

Helligon was created by volunteers from the Bajkom k tajchom organisation, who continuously maintain the track to ensure maximum comfort and safety for riders.

To Helligon from the Salamandra Resort

Helligon is connected to the Bajkom k tajchom mountain bike trails. Access to its start is from the Upper Hodrusha Ditch, but you can also reach the top of the track from Hotel Salamandra, either by the ascent route or by cable car.
